Present were: Kian, Bodhi, Dahlia, Brooke, Bryan, Thomas, Sharon, Kregg, Slavica, Takesha, Mercy, and Corey.
We started requirement 5 of the required adventure Stronger, Faster, Higher. To complete requirement 5, scouts would have to repeat the fitness course in two weeks and see how their time has improved. The fitness course consisted of 10 pulls of an exercise band, walking a balance beam, curling a five pound weight ten times one hand then the other, jumping over a pommel five times, ten jumps of a jump rope, ten twirls with a hula hoop, and kicking a ball around five flags and back again. To complete the adventure, scouts can finish requirement 5 as noted above or they have the option of completing requirement 4 or 6. Requirement 4 is to try a new sport they haven't tried before. Requirement 6 would be to lead a younger scout in a fitness game. Also, scouts must complete requirement 3. Scouts must make a 30 day exercise plan involving at least three activities and write down their progress every week. The next adventure will be the Webelos Walkabout. We will meet at JB Williams Park on October 18th to begin the planning for this adventure.

The meeting will occur at 7 p.m. @ 4335 Bending River Trail, Lilburn, GA 30047. Because there is a bit of a walk from our house to our river site, please try to be on time, as we will leave en masse @ 705 p.m.
The meeting will follow the meeting plan for Meeting 3 of the required activity Stronger, Faster, Higher. This meeting plan is described on pages 67-68 of the den leader guide. Because Janet is not available to lead the activity this time, all parents please be prepared to help guide your children to participate. Slavica is supposed to bring snacks and we are going to ask Brooke if she wants to be "Denner" for the month. Here are the meeting notes for our meeting yesterday! Also, please find here the Webelos Den Leader Guide, which includes detailed "lesson plans" for every single requirement.

We learned at the Parent Leader meeting last night that there is a deadline for registering for the Spooky-Ree campout! Pack 564 Cubmaster Evan said we have until September 13th to register.
The campout dates are October 14-16th! As far as campouts go, as I understand there will be a lot of people and not so rustic. For example, there will be a mess hall with a dining plan. There will be many activities for which scouts can earn badges. Also, it is possible to attend just for the day and NOT camp out. See below for the registration webpage for this campout! Dear everyone, we will post here the Den 12 Calendar! You will find here Den 12 meeting dates, as well as calendar items having to do with the whole Pack. The Pack 564 calendar items can also be found at https://www.bsapack564.org You will see that we've only gone through the end of October, but we will continue to update. Also, we are not quite up to speed with all the popcorn stuff and dates, more later on that.... September 6: Pack 564 Parent Leader meeting @ 715 ZOOM. This meeting is optional but is useful for updates about Pack 564 events and is also a great place to have questions answered. Please refer to the comments for the ZOOM link!
September 13: Pack 564 Pack meeting @ 7 p.m. All Dens gather together. This is where badges are awarded and achievements are recognized. Also, Den 12 will confirm the meeting location for our very first den meeting! Mountain Park United Methodist Church. September 20: Den 12 is scheduled to meet @ 7 p.m. The location is TBD, but JB Williams park was suggested. This will be a planning meeting. We will decide on future meetings AND organize who will lead what activities. September 23-25: Webelos Woods Weekend. This is a campout. There is a flyer on the pack 564 website. We don't have a lot of information about this one, probably something to ask about during the Parent Leader meeting. The main difference between this campout and the Spooky-Ree is this one will be smaller, because only Webelos and Arrows of Light attend. September 27: Den 12 meeting ??? October 4: Pack 564 Parent Leader meeting @ 715 ZOOM. Optional. See September 6. October 11: Pack 564 Pack meeting @ 7 p.m. Mountain Park United Methodist Church October 14-16: Spooky-Ree campout. The main difference between this and Webelos Woods Weekend is that all scouts can attend. This is a very large event with a mess hall and it is possible to come for just the day. October 18: Den 12 meeting? October 25: Den 12 meeting? Here is spider man. He can stick on walls and shoot webs--also web in the sky. And he has spider sense and spider strength. We will talk about that in the next video. |
